Mission

That magical glass of wine
We live in Lucca, one of the most beautiful Italian cities of art, and almost every day ride our bikes in the discovery of its wonders. We have been working in the field of cycling for over 10 years, running a shop that sells and rents bicycles, technical clothing and accessories.

One Sunday night, the idea was born.

We had spent a pleasant day on our bikes and were talking and having typical Tuscan dishes for dinner. After tasting that magical glass of red wine, the idea of a project came to us: to organize excursions where bike-loving tourists can ride with others, safely, discovering breathtaking scenery and, when the day is done, relax in an ambience of Italian culture, good wine and optimal cuisine to be enjoyed in a spirit of camaraderie.

We set to work, organizing selected characteristic refreshment points along the itineraries, and choosing the most exciting routes. Now we are ready to offer you Ruota a Ruota Food and Culture Cycling Tours.

Located in the northwest area of Tuscany, Lucca is a city with Roman origins rich in monuments, history and beauty.

The Renaissance walls surrounding it, having a perimeter of 4,223 meters, are fully intact and are accessible on foot and by bike. In the city’s historic center, you can visit churches, towers and bell towers that have earned the city the nickname of “City of 100 Churches”, or admire the ancient Piazza Anfiteatro, that rises on the ruins of a Roman amphitheater.

But Lucca is not just art: its geographical position makes it strategic for our project.

Just 18 km from the city center, the Versilia coastline extends north to the region of Liguria, where cyclists can ride along routes overlooking the sea on the rocky cliffs of Cinque Terre.

The area of Garfagnana – the mountain area that connects the regions of Tuscany and Emilia Romagna – is just over 30 minutes away. In the hinterland of the Maremma area, you can visit the gentle hills of Chianti and Bolgheri.

And then Siena, Florence, the Serchio Valley, the Carrara marble quarries...

The morphology of the territory and the mild climate make that Lucca is chosen by many professional cyclists to train and live.

Not surprisingly, two of the eighteen most important worldwide team, Saxo Bank and Dimension Data , have their headquarters in our city.

Every day you can meet during a hike , if you're lucky , your idol, maybe Alberto Contador or maybe Mark Cavendish.
